He received his B.Sc. and M.Phil. degrees from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 1977 and 1979 respectively; and Ph.D. degree in Microbiology from University of California at Davis in 1983. After three years post-doctoral training, he returned to CUHK to become a lecturer. Now he is a professor in School of Life Sciences and the Associate Director of Environmental Science Programme, CUHK. He also serves as visiting professors for Nankai University, South China University of Technology, Central China Normal University and Guangdong University of Technology in China. He is an Associate Editor for Journal of Environmental Sciences, a Coordinating Editor for Environmental Geochemistry and Health and a member of editorial boards of Ecotoxicology & Environmental Safety, Journal of Photochemisty and Photobiology B: Biology. His current research interests focus on photocatalytic water purification and disinfection, and energy production. He has published more than 260 articles (Journal Citation Report) in various aspects of environmental science and technology. 讲座介绍:In our group, several kinds of Bi-based catalysts have been developed, including (1) BiOBr nanosheets with a high percentage of exposed {001} facets, (2) Boron doped BiOBr nanosheets, (3) Alkali treatment of BiOBr, (4) Oxygen defective yolk-shell BiO2-x spheres. These Bi-based catalysts exhibit the improved visible-light-driven photocatalytic bacterial inactivation. |
